Looking to improve your organization? These apps will help.
Do you like organize-y things as much as I do? Yep, I'm the girl who got a label maker for Christmas this year - and I've used it so much I've already had to buy a second spool of labels! Of course, it's not just practical household items that can be employed in organization. There's a ton of great apps for your smart phone that can keep your life, business, and community commitments on track.
Here are some apps that have really impressed me lately - and I'm not the only one. They are all rated at least 4/5 in the app store. I was so happy to appear on CTV Ottawa Morning Live to tell everyone all about them - and now you can see the list here!
Truly an all-in-one app, If (If This Then That) connects almost 300 other apps in one place, including Spotify, Instagram, Google Drive, and Fitbit. I love that it has great applications for business, volunteer projects, and personal life. For instance, every time you make a phone call, you can have said call logged in a spreadsheet. Or every time you post a video to YouTube, the app will generate a blog post in Weebly for you. It can also add photos to your Facebook page from Google Drive, or make Pinterest boards based on your Instagram content. It's basically an app for all other apps!
If you've ever needed a personal assistant, consider downloading 24me, a smart and automatic task handler that can do almost everything you'd want an assistant to do. I love it because you can set it up to reflect your real life - like having it send you reminders about when you should leave for your meeting, taking current traffic conditions into account. You can even have it act as a personal concierge, ordering birthday gifts for friends and automatically paying you bills. Note: This is one app where there is a huge performance gap between the free and paid version. Never forget your passwords again with LastPass. The app securely stores all your usernames and passwords, which you can access using TouchID or with one master password. If you like to tear your hair out with passwords that require a capital letter, a special character, a number, and at least 10 letters, you'll love Last Pass. It keeps track of everything! I use this every single day with my clients so they can let me look at their social media pages without me seeing their personal passwords. Brainstorm anytime, anywhere with SimpleMind, a digital mind map that provides a space for all your ideas. This is perfect for creative types or anyone who likes to, say, put all their ideas on a Post-it note and move them around to help visualize a project. So many organization apps are a variation on classic lists - it's nice to have something a bit different and artistic. Create smart to-do lists on Remember the Milk and receive reminders via email, IM, text, Twitter, or mobile notifications. I really love that you can assign a priority level to each task to make them stand out. You can also set tasks to be reoccurring. If you always need to drop off your drycleaning on Friday morning, this will keep track of it for you. You can prioritize and organize your tasks by due dates, tags, or importance and assign tasks to others.
